  • Matthew is a postdoc at the Nano-Bio Interface Center at the University of Pennsylvania and splits his time between overseeing the instruments in the Center and his own research.  B.S. Applied Mathematics, Engineering, and Physics at Wisconsin.  M.S. Applied Science and Technology at California-Berkeley. His research -- modeling of defect propagation in multilayer mirror stacks -- was in Prof. Neureuther's group in Electrical Engineering.  Ph.D. Engineering Mechanics at Wisconsin, in Rob Carpick's lab. Friction of hydrogenated / deuterated silicon (111), and of phosphonic acid SAMs on alumina. He also designed and built an AFM -- a task he doesn't wish on anyone.  More details to come...
