Linking Proteins, Wires, Dots, and Molecules into Useful Devices

The Chemical Heritage Foundation (CHF) invites you to

a lecture by Dawn A. Bonnell.

Through contemporary art, historical artifacts, and large-scale models, Molecules That Matter showcases ten organic molecules that profoundly altered modern life. The Molecules That Matter Lecture Series features speakers who will address the science in everyday experiences and the promise and peril of discovery and innovation.

Next Tuesday, 9 December, Dawn A. Bonnell speaks about “Linking Proteins, Wires, Dots, and Molecules into Useful Devices.” Bonnell is the Trustee Professor of Materials Science at the University of Pennsylvania, where she also serves as director of the Nano/Bio Interface Center. Bonnell leads the center’s /Small Times/ /Journal/, which is ranked number one in the nation in nanotechnology research.

Admission is $15. Students may attend free upon presentation of a valid student ID. Attendees must register .

Doors open at 5 p.m. Lecture begins at 6 p.m. Reception begins at 7 p.m. Guests will be able to view the museum at CHF prior to and following the lecture.

Molecules That Matter was developed by CHF in collaboration with the Frances Young Tang Teaching Museum and Art Gallery at Skidmore College. Generous funding for the exhibition has been provided by The Camille and Henry Dreyfus Foundation, the Hach Scientific Foundation, Amgen, the Friends of the Tang, and donors to the Chemical Heritage Foundation.
