SPM Conference Invitation (NATAS 2009)
Dear SPMers,
I am organizing Local Thermal Analysis symposium at the North American
Thermal Analysis Society (NATAS) meeting, which will be held in
Lubbock, TX from Sep. 20 through Sep. 23, 2009
(http://www.natasinfo.org). Scanning Probe Microscopy is a perfect
technique for measuring materials’ properties with high resolution.
The main focus of this symposium is the following:
- Measurements of the materials’ properties with high resolution whilematerial undergoes phase transition, such as glass transition, melting, ferroelectric phase transition, etc.
- Understanding of the heat transport at nanoscale (analytical andnumerical modeling)
- Temperature-assisted techniques, for chemical imaging with highresolution (tip-enhanced Raman microscopy, combinations of AFM withIR, mass spectrometry, etc).
SPM has an opportunity to advance local thermal analysis and bring it
to the next level. I hope to see a lot of SPM works at this symposium.
Please submit your abstract on the following web-page:
http://www.natasinfo.org/Natas2009(web)1.html . The abstract deadline
is March 31, 2009.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me via
e-mail: 4xn at ornl.gov.
Sincerely,
